To be fair, July 4th was the day which the US exchanged one dictatorship for another more subtle (and IMO insidious) dictatorship. Instead of a King (or Queen) we 'embraced' the affluentia and the aristocracy (political and monetary powers). And,... look where it got us. ^_~ Simply, the ingratitude you reference - rightly to some degree - has been paid in the form of increased subjugation as well as the adopting/establishing of a system which can't be rebelled against. Way to go US. facepalm
