First Position. The Questioner, or subject at hand. The Sun. Upright. A positive card that indicates a bright future and personal ability and talent. You could go in almost any direction and find success.
Second Position. What crosses or interferes. Jupiter. Jupiter has a thinking problem. Too wise for his own good, he often isolates and paralyzed himself with conflicting thoughts and ideas. Jupiter unfortunately can see things from many angles, and it makes the picture a little cloudy sometimes. Jupiter also is unfortunately designated as adviser sometimes too often. Very difficult to say no to someone seeking guidance. But it never ends.
Position Three. Distant past. Nine of Pentacles, inverted. This would indicate an upturn of resources or finance. Generally it would indicate a major loss. Secondary meaning could be a rejection of wealth.
Position Four. Near Future. Two of wands. A new project or business, not off the ground yet, but close to a "beta test". You still have a few more steps to get it on it's feet yet, but it looks upright and positive to go.
Position Five. Hopes and dreams. Four of Cups, inverted. A funny card in a funny place. Four of cups usually indicate a family so...inverted probably refers to the time when you won't feel so much weight on your shoulders. A time when you can explore some ideas that aren't practical to do at this stage in your life.
Position Six. Personal Goal. The Emperor upright. LOL! You just want EVERYTHING don't you? The Emperor is even past being in charge of his daily routine. The Emperor is in charge of his destiny. However, he still must rely on work and the written word (Education).
Position Seven. Self perception. Death, upright. You feel as if you have undergone a deep and dramatic change or awakening. Almost an evolution. Upright, you feel good and confident in your "New" skin.
Position Eight. Your environment. Ten of Swords, inverted. End of a long battle that took some toll on all participants in said environment. A battle complete, finished, never to be fought again.
Position Nine. Hopes and fears. Seven of Pentacles Inverted. (A fear). Fearing a potential loss of resources. This is not a fact, only a fear, so it does not indicate the rationality or truth of this "fear".
Position Ten. The outcome. The Moon. Upright. A hidden agenda and or deceit. Keep your ears an eyes open. But this card is upright, so I'm not sure there is much you can do to avoid it.

Houdini's Tarot spread.


OK, First position, The Questioner or subject at hand. Five of Pentacles. All the resources have been collected and it is time for you to reap the benefits. The Five of Pentacles is a "working" card, and this period will be present (as long it is attended to) for a bit of time. Lots still to accomplish.
Second Position, What crosses or concerns you. Two of cups. The present situation inhibits a "normal" life sometimes, and you would like to be able to focus on your personal life more. Cups usually mean love and Romance, Two would indicate an intimate relationship, so this card insinuates that this is about your love life.
Third Position. Distant past. The Moon, inverted. Major deception, with a/some regrettable loss. Deemed necessary.
Position Four. Near Future. Seven of Pentacles. A steady and copious influx of resource. Pentacles (coins) to me usually indicate Finance and property, but can refer to anything of value to the subject being read. This is what the first card was referencing "reaping the benefits".
Position Five. Hopes and Dreams. Ace of Wands, inverted. This indicates a wish that you never have to conceive and create another project. This does not mean you would not preside and advise over a working project, just that it is your wish to never do the grunt labor of it all ever again. The Wand indicates work/career. The Ace insinuates a new start or "birth". That it is inverted indicates that you reject the notion.
Position Six. Personal Goal. King of Cups upright. A comfortable throne, where you can attend to your life with little aggravation. Cups, which is a love card indicates that your love and family life is sorted.
Position Seven. Self Perception. Eight of Swords Upright. A Warrior card and an active one. "Beware of the one that wields swords of eight." This indicates that you have less regard for society, and more focus on the matters before you.
Position Eight . Your Environment. Eight of Wands. Intense labor, upright it is effective and working in a forward and productive way.
Position Nine, Hopes and Fears. Seven of Wands. It is upright so this is actually a hope. What is interesting is that there is one less wand than in the previous position. It would seem you want to make an adjustment in the labor, perhaps the production needs a different direction?
Position Ten. The outcome. Six of wands inverted. The "adjustment" is a little deeper made than intended. The direction will need another slight adjustment.

Reading for King of the Forest.

OK First Position, The subject at hand or Questioner. Jupiter inverted. Jupiter is usually considered a powerful Arcana. Intuitive and heroic, many have come to rely on his efforts, a notion he is currently rejecting. Jupiter, being much admired is a hard man to get close to. Heavy is the cloak of expertise and experience. He is in the process of discarding this garment (cloak) and is left feeling a little ...unconcealed. Still waters run deep with Jupiter, and people take his remoteness for disinterest. This leaves Jupiter in a lonely solitude. (You might want to do a little more hugging).
Position Two, what crosses or interferes. Nine of Wands. Rewards just within reach. Perhaps your focus on the completion of a project has prohibited you from nourishing yourself more creatively. (Jupiter comes with enormous and varied talents).
Position Three. Distant past, Nine of Pentacles, upright. It would seem that you are well prepared for the future. The Nine of Pentacles points to an accumulation of resources. (Property and Finance).
Position Four. Near Future, Four of Cups. Several cups mostly indicate family, or persons you are equally close to. The "near future "card is connected to "distant past" so I think you will either be investing or helping loved ones out.
Position Five. Hopes and dreams. Strength inverted. You are tired. You would like to relinquish your stoic countenance, but cannot see the consequences of such an action, so you carry on. You deserve a break.
Position Six. Goals. Queen of Swords upright. Usually people with a sensitive intellect have a hard time coping with temper from time to time. Even though it is fair and right to defend injustice, you seek to take a more compassionate response. The years have seasoned you. You recognize that the heat needs to cool a little when you are angry, before you respond. The card is upright, so you have/can accomplish this. (not easy always).
Position Seven. Self Perception. The Hanged Man. Still waters run deep again. The Hanged man. through the eyes of others seems to be immobilized and not accomplishing much. But The Hanged Man is usually in a very productive place. Extreme self growth. The very image on the card resembles a chrysalis. What emerges from you will be something very fine.
Position Eight. Your environment. A new project, but you are not sure that you welcome this fresh diversion.
Position Nine. Hopes and fears. Eight of Pentacles. A good conservator of your resources, you have no real fear of insolvency, you are aware of the deprivations so many are facing. You are not austere, but neither are you foolhardy with resources. This card is upright. It is on your mind but you need not concern yourself too much.
Tenth Position. The Outcome. Two of Swords. This card indicates that you will be "fencing" with another quite soon. This will probably be more debate than argument, it is upright and a low card, so is unlikely to have too much impact.

First Card, Queen of Pentacles upright. Property and finance. Second card, Nine of Swords. (Lot of swords tonight). The path that requires the most mental exertion. The position is not easily earned, but is yours for the taking. It can lead you as far as you wish to take it. Third card, Justice. There are elements of risks so it's important that not only you stay ethical, (Not a problem) but be sure that anyone you engage with behaves that way too. Otherwise, you must be alert to never be in the wrong place with the wrong person.

First card, Five of Wands. An obligation to move your career to the next level. Do not stagnate. Second card, Ace of Pentacles. A fresh financial beginning. Third card, Three of Cups. The third card is never upright or inverted when read (it lays sideways) so it is difficult to read the Three of Cups, so I will just explain the basic meaning. Cups Primary meaning refer to a romantic and even physical love, and as a secondary meaning, cups when presented with several, especially will refer to family. When I see Three of Cups, it generally points to two people vying for the same individual. Sometimes this is OK, but usually is difficult.

 

Guest asks "Is the worst behind me?"
First card, "The Emperor" inverted. A heavy authority is replaced by second card, "The Empress" Upright. This is a more compassionate approach, it would appear that some things do improve. Card Three, Eight of Swords, earned warrior status, but that does not prevent more strife.

 

Guest Tarot Spread.
While shuffling the deck, a card flew out. It is my tradition to read that card separately outside of the spread. But today the only way to correctly read this is by taking the rest of the spread into account. The card leaping out of the deck has been happening with increasing frequency. I was not surprised to see it happen with yours.
OK, Extra card, Four of Swords, upright. A caution, you are so close and it is easy to lose a little traction, much to be gained.
First position, the subject at hand or questioner. Five of Swords upright. The first battle is behind you, you've earned everything you have gained so far. These are intellectual battles, but they manifest themselves in a good life. Time for a well earned break.
Second position, what crosses (covers) or interferes with the subject. The moon, (Definitely covers). The moon points to secretiveness and deception. A useful tool, but not without risk. The subject or questioner is not being lied to but rather the one perpetrating the...beguilement.
Position Three. Distant past. Four of Wands. Unfinished project. So close. Can it be recovered? There was a useful foundation.
Position Four. Near Future. Eight of Pentacles. An extreme influx of resources (Cash I think). Enough to rest on your laurels indefinitely if you are frugal. But this is a prosperous moment and you will want to ride it to completion.
Position Five. Hopes and dreams. Queen of Wands, inverted. While you preside over your own labor and business, It would be perfect if you weren't bogged down by the practical daily decisions. You need a loftier perch, where you can concentrate on larger issues.
Position Six, personal goals. Thee of Wands. You just can't get enough can you? Yet ANOTHER business project you would like to begin, but not necessarily complete, perhaps just getting it working and prosperous enough to sell.
Position Seven. Self perception. Six of Wands, upright. "Even when I don't have to, I work my butt off." This is your philosophy. You hate not being productive and don't respect lazy people. You see your work ethic as one of your greater strengths.
Position Eight. Your environment. Knight of Swords, upright. Focus on conflict. Putting out fires around you some big, some small, some are too petty for even your concern . (I refer you to position Five, Queen of Wands inverted).
Position Nine, hopes and fears. King of Wands inverted. A fear. Do you think that you are what you do? A concern for becoming too identified by the projects you work at or produce. Maybe you could use a little "me" time to add to your already complex identity.
Position Ten. Final outcome. Wheel of Fortune, upright. I hate this card because in essence it says that the future is not yet determined. You will have to exert effort to make things happen, and while things might surprise you, the card is upright so it seems that your goal can be achieved.

You can get a lot of work accomplished there. Card Three, Four of Swords. Lot's of mental effort and expenditure. A key period for learning.
